Travel in Turkey
Turkey is a huge country with its 1650 km width, from west to east. The most convenient way of travel was bus and train but now, almost each city has airport and flying is really easy.
Bus journeys are taking 8-16 hours and buses are big coaches without bed. We also use, flights in our tours as possible as. In some destinations, there are no flights and bus is being the only choice.
Trains are still old in Turkey. Only from Istanbul (Asia continent) to Ankara and Eskisehir, you can use fast train. For other destinations, we do not recommend.
In big cities, mostly you can use subway and taxi. Always use taxis from the station, not jump on the street.
Ferries are only usable in Istanbul between 2 continents and between marmara sea. Unfortunately there is not any ships going between other cities.

Recently, shopping has been moved to centers and malls in Turkey too. You can find lots of big shopping malls around. If you are looking for regular brands, they are being highly usefull. But if you are looking for spesific local gifts, you can not find them in malls. We recommend narrow streets of the city.
Most popular place will be Grand bazaar with thousands of street inside. You can find all kind of souveniours, gifts, jewellery, leather, and more. At least you should have a look.
Another common place is Beyoglu-Istiklal street. Street has lots of shops, restaurants, bars, and historical places.
ıf you are looking for some luxury, you can visit Bebek or Nisantasi.
